A Prayer for February

Flourish!.png

The theme that the Lord gave us for 2021 is “Flourish!” and we want to live into that call in the upcoming year. We have spent a year that felt diminished, and dry, and desolate – but we want to walk in faith for ourselves, for Accessible Hope as an entity, and for the people with disabilities that we serve around the world that we were created to FLOURISH! To bear fruit. To be and give life. Join us this year in these monthly prayers, as we explore the idea of flourishing in the Bible. And let us know how we can pray for you as well!

"Whoever trusts in his riches will fall,
but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf."

Proverbs 11:28

Father,

We confess that it is so easy to get caught up in the riches of this world; money, possessions, titles, experiences, degrees, accomplishments, and the list goes on. Forgive us for putting our hope and trust in all the wrong places. Give us a fresh set of eyes to see what it looks like to truly flourish as we trust only in You. Just as branches receive their nutrients from the tree so that they can flourish with beautiful fruit, help us to remain so closely connected to You that our flourishing will be the fruit of Your righteousness in us.

Thank you, Father, that You are the God who sees us - and every one of your Image-bearers. We pray on behalf of every person in the world affected by disability, that You would bless them with the riches of Your presence and bring them to faith in You. Our desire is to see them flourishing as a result of their trust in You. As we enter this Lenten season, let them know that because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, they now are ABLE to access Your throne of grace, and be full participants in your Kingdom!

In the Name of Jesus, our Righteousness,
Amen
