A Prayer for November

trust and rest prayers for 2020.jpg

Our theme for 2020 is "Trust & Rest." This is especially timely in these days in which we currently find ourselves. Please join us in trusting and resting in our faithful God as you pray this prayer of trust with us.

“Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation.”

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day:

“Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.

Isaiah 12:2-4

Gracious and loving, Father! Thank you! We come into your presence with grateful hearts. Even though the pressures of this world and the worries in our lives are often overwhelming, we have assurance from your Word of who you are. Thank you that this world, with all its stress and anxiety, is not our home! Thank you for salvation and the eternal home that awaits us. We trust in you and lean on you when the cares of the world press in. Thank you that you are our strength. Thank you for filling us with your song. When we trust in you our fears flee, the cares of life recede, and joy fills our hearts.

As we bask in your presence, finding strength in you, help us to remember to share the source of our joy and strength with those around us. Give us opportunities to glorify you as we tell others of your presence in our lives. Open our eyes to see those around us who are hurting – the poor, the sick, the disabled, the vulnerable, the depressed, and the grief-stricken. So many are in need of your touch and salvation. Let our lives tell your story, drawing others to you, and the salvation and peace that comes through knowing you.

We come to you this day through Jesus and the salvation we have through Him.
Amen.
